**IMPORTANT NOTE** ATHLONE SHOW POLICY: ALL COLTS & STALLIONS 2 years and above MUST be bitted whilst on the showgrounds!!!!!

IMHR ALL IRELAND CLASSES 2008

1. One and two year old colt or filly Section A (yearlings 32" and under, 2 year old's 34" and under)

2. 3yrs and over mare  Section A (34" and under)

3. 3yrs and over mare Section  B (38" and under)

4. foal, colt or filly, born in 2008, the progeny of  mares in classes 2 or 3.

5. Geldings Any age Section A and B (section A to be 34" and under, section B 38" and under)

6. 3yrs and over stallion Section A and B (section A 34" and under, section B 38" and under)

7. Registered Miniature Shetland mare or gelding Any age (34" and under)

8. Registered Miniature Shetland colt or stallion Any age (34" and under)

9. Young Handler's class (This class is not a qualifier for the finals) open to all young handlers up to 16 years, Strictly NO Stallions allowed in this class.

Where classes have been amalgamated, In class 1 the top 3 yearlings and the top 3 two year olds will qualify for the finals and in class 6 the top 3 section A stallions and the top 3 section B stallions will qualify.
At the IMHR All Ireland Finals at Castlerea Show the classes will be separated with exception of the Geldings class.

In co-operation with the European Miniature Horse Association ALL of the IMHR qualifiers detailed above are also qualifiers for the EMHA Championship show to be held at Ecclesville Equestrian Center, Fintona on 23rd August 2008.
Our qualifiers will also incorporate the EMHA High Points Scheme for EMHA Members.
The EMHA qualifiers are also qualifiers for the IMHR Championship show at Castlerea on the 4th August.

Please check with the EMHA for the classes at the following shows, They may be different from the IMHR classes, They are EMHA classes which will follow EMHA rules.

The IMHR All Ireland Finals are also qualifiers for 

International Miniature Horse and Pony society

Miniature Horse Of the Year Show  in the UK.
MHOYS 2008 will be on the 4th & 5th October.
The Top 3 Placings in the Championship Classes will
Qualify for MHOYS and be considered for entry
onto the IMHR Elite Register.

 
1, Qualifiers are open to all miniature horses, Regardless of which society they are registered with. Everyone is welcome.For the Championship Show at Castlerea all exhibitors in championship classes must be a member of the IMHR.
2, Any horse may only qualify once.
3, Where one or more horses decline entry to the Championship in the top placings, subsequent placings may receive qualification if considered by the judge to be of sufficient quality and merit.
4, No more than 3 horses will qualify for the Championship in each class at any qualifying show.
5,
Horses placed 1st - 3rd in the IMHR All Ireland Championship may be considered by the judge on the day, to be included on the ELITE REGISTER. This register is a list of the best miniature horses in the country. The Elite Register of Excellence will be published on the IMHR website and in our newsletter.
6, Handlers must present a smart appearance in the show ring.
7, Handlers of stallions must be aged 16 or over
8, FOLLOWING DISCUSSIONS WITH THE IRISH SHOWS ASSOCIATION
WE WISH TO CONFIRM THAT THE BITTING RULE WILL NOT BE ENFORCED FOR THE 2008 SEASON.

HOWEVER THE IMHR RECOMMENDS THAT
ALL COLTS 2 YEARS AND OVER ARE BITTED.

OWNERS/HANDLERS MUST ENSURE THAT THEIR HORSES ARE UNDER CONTROL AT ALL TIMES AND HANDLED BY A COMPETENT PERSON.
9, The IMHR recommends that all competitors have their own insurance
